Dr. Isaac's Advanced Placement Human Geography Website

Ahoy Pirates and Pirate Parents!

I am Dr. Alicia Isaac, Social Studies teacher and department chair at Boca Ciega High School. I teach Advanced Placement Human Geography and Advanced Placement U.S. Government and Politics.  2009-2010 promises to be an exciting year and I am ecstatic that we will be taking the journey together into Advanced Placement Human Geography (APHUG).  AP Human Geography is a College Board authorized course with college level content taught in high schools that allows students to prepare for the rigors of college and earn college credit if they pass the AP Exam (a national test) at the end of the course.  The course is very interesting as we study geography as it relates to population and migration, folk and pop culture, cities, religion, race and ethnicity, politics, agriculture, economic development and land use. APHUG is also hard work and requires some type of homework and reading each day including weekends.  The most successful students read and take notes on the text and articles, study their class notes, complete homework assignments, study for tests prior to the night before, and interact with classmates about the material.

Please follow our studies via this website and through active conversations about what we are learning in APHUG. If you have questions or comments, please do not hesitate to email me at Isaaca@pcsb.org or send me a note.

Best Regards,

Dr. Isaac
